About Me

Hello, my name is Matei Mărăcineanu, and I am a 15-year-old wildlife and nature photographer from Romania. My passion for photography began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when I discovered my father’s old DSLR camera. At first, I would take it into my parents’ garden, capturing small details of the world around me. What started as a way to escape boredom soon grew into a true passion that I began to take seriously.

From a young age, I spent much of my time in nature, as my parents often took me to forests, parks, and mountains. Those experiences sparked my love for the outdoors and later merged perfectly with my growing dedication to photography.

Through my images, I aim to showcase the beauty of the natural world. Many people don’t realize what is being lost as nature disappears, and I believe it is our responsibility, as photographers, to inspire others to protect, conserve, and respect it. With my photographs, I try to capture fleeting moments of wildlife and landscapes in unique light or conditions that reveal their magic.

For me, photography is more than just taking pictures—it is a way to tell stories about nature and to remind people how important it is to preserve it.
